The North Summit Fire District has the responsibility of ensuring subdivisions, commercial structures, individual family dwellings and other structures meet the requirements of the (IFC) International Fire Code, Eastern Summit County Development Code - Title 11, & the 2006 (UWUI) Utah Wildland-Urban Interface Code. To ensure the safety of our residence and visitors, a North Summit Fire District 'Letter of Approval' is required on building, remodel, and lot permits. A fee of $100 is required for all plan reviews and approval letters. This fee can be paid online by credit card or by mailing in a check, to P.O. Box 187 Coalville UT 84017.
Process:
Please fill out the form below and pay the $100 Plan Review fee to start the plan review process. If you have any questions about the process or the form below, please contact us at (435) 395-7329.
A site plan shall be provided. This site plan must include the location of the nearest fire hydrant (with the length's marked & measured by the way a fire truck would drive using fire access roads to your building, not as the crow flies), dimensions of all fire access roads (Grades, lengths, & width's), & dimensions of driveways.
A pre-approval letter needs to be issued and that is what you will upload to the County for permit approval, this is appliable only if you are building in Summit County unincorporated areas. After the plan review has been completed, the approval letter will be provided to the applicant's email. This approval letter will be submitted to the respective building authority again later when the permit process is underway.
After the permit has been approved by the County, then the Fire District will approve and submit the ‘Approval Letter’ to the County ‘eprocess360’ system.
On-site inspections will need to be completed during the building process. After 1 failed inspection, any additional inspections are an additional $50, per inspection.
